Welcome to 'Le Bergerie'- a lovingly renovated sheep barn set in two acres of beautiful and relaxing countryside in the Campan valley, Hautes Pyrénées, France.
'Le Bergerie' is ideally located for all year round outdoor pursuits including skiing, walking, road cycling, mountain biking, climbing, hiking, rafting, canoeing, parapenting, horse riding, golf, fishing, canyoning and many more. Many visit the area for the diverse and beautiful flora and fauna all set in breathtaking scenery. Whether young or old, seeking adrenalin activities or a relaxing break there is something for everyone.
Just a five minute drive away is La Mongie, a ski resort within the premier ski area of the French Pyrénées - the Tourmalet. La Mongie is the largest ski/snowboard area in the French Pyrénées with a total of 69 runs and 42 lifts. There are 2 ski schools and the Ecole du Ski Francais runs classes from 3 years old through to adults and from beginner to expert. Ski hire is available locally.
The Tour De France passes through the region and 'Le Bergerie' sits between the famed Col du Tourmalet and the Col d'Aspin. It is a fantastic base for cycling enthusiasts, whether you want to spectate, cycle the Cols or take part in the annual local races for the amateur cyclist. Cycle hire is available locally.
The area is popular with walkers and hikers. The property is set within the Parc National de Pyrénées, and near to the GR10. Locally there is an abundance of walking routes taking in waterfalls and lakes with spectacular views.
Other local attractions are the charming spa town of Bagnères de Bigorre with the Thermal Baths, Aquensis Spa and Grottes de Médous. The Campan valley villages have a rich cultural heritage. Alongside their beautiful fountains and historic churches, they continue to celebrate and preserve their local foods, arts and traditions.
